Categorically Jihru OF ABEO

When I first saw pictures of Jihru I thought "I don't know".  He was striking, but I was soooo unsure about the little tarnish he had.  After talking with his owner, Rebecca Perry of Categorically I felt like it was meant  for me to see him.  Rebecca more than met me half way as a breeder and I really appreciate that.  It's hard to choose a good breeder over the internet and you can not always travel to see them.  You have to trust the breeder and what you think you are seeing in pictures and whether the cat you choose will have a good temperament is another story in itself.  With Jihru the experience was great.  Not only was Rebecca wonderful to work with, but when I picked him up from the airport, my first impression through the carrier was "wow, now this is a silver".  His marking are very striking.  His coat is very very soft, his ears are pretty small, his profile is very nice, his tail is very nice and his overall structure is good also.  When I got him home I knew Rebecca had been holding him in her lap as she said.  It was very obvious that he had been well socialized and loved because even though he was afraid he didn't mind being held and he wanted the affection.  Yes he does have some tarnishing, but with his beauty - I'll work with it and hopefully paired with the right girl, Jihru will produce some striking non tarnished kittens.

ABEO Bakari

I first embraced the silver Bengal at On Safari 2000.  I was struck like a bolt of lightening when I first laid eyes on Stonehenge's Artic Ice.  Those inky black spots on a white background was something to behold.  I knew I had to one day own a silver Bengal.  When Phantom came along I was not planning to buy a silver male yet.  I had reserved my place for a silver and  I was comfortable waiting until the right one came along, when Phantom was advertised.  He wasn't as dark as most silvers, but his bloodline spoke for itself and somehow I believed he could produce kittens like his sire Starbengal's Splendor.  I was thrilled when Bakari came along.  Sure enough Phantom had given me a beautiful silver.  Bakari is very very affectionate.  I look forward to beautiful silver kittens from Bakari.

As well as awesome browns like his great grandsires RW QGC Starbengal Dicaprio and IW SGC Tejas Myna Lone.

Silvergene Chioke of ABEO

I like to think Chioke was my little blessing.  Christine Langlois of Glitterbengals advertised him online as a breeder/show male and if anyone was interested please email her to see pictures.  Christine was out of town for some time and was not able to respond to my request for pictures.  I had completely forgotten about the request since I pretty much requested pictures out of curiosity.  Don't get me wrong the need and the desire to have a new male after Zulu's infertility was very strong, but honestly financially this was not a good time.  I didn't imagine it would be love at first sight.  Sometimes when kittens are listed you see pictures and you think wow that's a nice cat.  Chioke really took my breath away when I first opened the email with the pictures of him enclosed.

I tried not to get too excited, because I didn't know if he was still available and that she would be willing to work with me.   I have had my share of disappointments with internet purchases, so I was still very skeptical.  It almost seemed as if everything was too good to be true.  I took the plunge and told Christine I wanted him and arranged his shipment. But for about two weeks I told myself and a fellow breeder/friend that  if he isn't what I saw in the pictures from a breeding stand point, I would neuter him and sell him as a pet and just consider the rest as a lost.  Picking him up from the airport was scary and the entire way home I kept trying to evaluate him by glimpses of him through the carrier while driving, which by the way was not happening successfully so I gave up. Once I got home I took him out and instantly fell in love again.

He has a lot to offer in any breeding program.  He has a really nice profile, medium ears, nice tail, nice muscle body structure, and true to her cattery name he is dripping in glitter.  I am sooooo excited about having this boy in my breeding program and my family.  I expect great things out of Chioke!

ABEO Chikku

Chiku is ABEO's first stud born here from our Queen He is my talker.  There isn't one person who doesn't come to our house without hearing Chiku's greetings.  He has been talking since he was born.  Kimani gave birth to this litter in Montana with her previous owner Pam Knowles.  When Pam called and told me about the kittens, the first thing she said was, "she has an awesome boy with a lot of flash and a great head, but he's so noisey.  Sure enough Kimani came home with her baby.  He came out of the carrier bold and talking.  I had to find a name that would fit his voiceful personality.  Chikku in African means "Chatterer".  He is the son of Cheetahsden Kimani and SGC Cheetahsden Chainlink.  Chiku is cutting edge.  We are sooooo excited about him.  Thanks Kimani for producing such an outstanding boy and thank you Pam Knowles of Cheetahsden for your vision - to put Kimani and Chainlink together.

Goldspurr Phenom

Laura told me about a boy she had that was just awesome and like always she made the mistake of showing me pictures of him.  I fell in love and had to have him.  Phemon is spectacular with soooo much personality.  I wrote an essay for my English class our Bengal babies.  I couldn't talk about all of them, but I could not write my paper without including Phenom.  When he walks in a room he often reminds me of a two year old child full of mischief. He prances in as if he is say "Hey let me see what I can get into".  Once Zimbabwe was lounging in a chair with his tail dangling and Phenom came into the room.  He immediately swatted Bowies dangling tail and kept going.  Again I saw that two year old who hits bigger child and runs away probably his way of saying hello.  He is so playful and yet so loving.  Often he sounds like a motor is running as he purrs contently when you pick him up.  Thank you Laura - my friend and my confidant for sharing this awesome boy with me.
